At a young age, I realized that people need someone to talk with about what they're going through. Even though I didn't quite understand how to help as a kid/teen, I tried my best.
I've realized over the years that people genuinely need a listening ear - not a helping ear that wants to answer all of lifes problems for them. But someone to sit with them in the things of life, the junk. It makes me think of the book of Job. Job's friends at the end of chapter 2 just come to sit with him for 7 days. They don't speak or do anything, just sit together.
How many of us have friends that just with us in life? Just to listen, to care, to empathize and not try to "figure it out"? Unfortunately, this is a disappearing art in our friendships today.
Nevertheless, some of us still want to practice this art of listening, compassionate caring for others, and just being present when someone is going through difficulties in life.
Welcome to Northern Roots Counseling - where you will be listened to, empathized with, and able to let go of the things that weigh you down on a daily basis.
